The impact Coach Blundo has made on not only the basketball program, but the community is remarkable.  The amount of kids he has impacted is remarkabe.  Not only does he teach the game of basketball, he teaches all of the life lessons you need to succeed.  He has devoted himself to the community, and making sure every single one of them reaches there full potiential.   Coach Blundo was very humbled to receive the award, as he honestly couldn’t believe he won the award.

Coach Blundo’s grandfather George Joseph also  received the Salute to Courage Award.  In fact, Mr. Joseph was the second person ever to receive the award.  The award serves leadership, commitment to our community, and the YMCA’s core values.  The Y wants to honor the legacies of every human to receive the award.  The award is presented to a person, or people who exemplify courage, the ability of a person to embody strength, and overcome obstacles, and the abiltiy to have confidence to do anything in life.  This is the way coach lives by, and provides for his players.

“When I look at the list of people who have received this honor, and why each receieed, it’s diffcult for me to place myself in their category.”-Coach Blundo
