Mr. Rogers Day 2019
Please, Won’t You Be My Neighbor!!!
Today in the greater Pittsburgh area, is Mr. Rogers day.
Mr. Rogers Day originates from the world-famous 1968 TV show, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. The award winning show produced at WQED in Pittsburgh, spanned over 900 episodes from 1968-2001. Mr. Fred Rogers brought happiness and joy into the world for a way to get people to positively handle their problems. Today 17 years after his death, Fred Rogers is still teaching millions of kids around the world to be kind to one another with his TV show still airing on PBS Kids daily. Mr. Rogers was a local Pittsburgh native and also was a Presbyterian minister.
How do we celebrate Mr. Rogers Day?
Well, it’s pretty simple. All you have to do is wear a cardigan sweater if you own one. Mr. Rogers wore a cardigan sweater that was made from his mother every day on set. We wear a cardigan sweater today to spread joy and positivity throughout the world.
