Meet Junior Student-Athlete Sheldon Cox

I recently had the opportunity interview junior Sheldon Cox of the New Castle Red Hurricane Basketalll Team.  Sheldon is the starting guard from last season’s WPIAL champions. Sheldon is the epitome of a positive role model given his success both on the court and in the classroom.

Question:  Who’s your favorite pro basketball player?

Sheldon: Kyrie Irving

Question: Who’s your role model?

Sheldon: My Dad

Question: What’s your thoughts on this years team?

Sheldon: We are a young team and will out work every team we play.

Question: Is there any reason that you wear number #11?

Sheldon: No, it’s the first number I ever wore.

Question: Are you nervous for tip-off?

Sheldon: No, I’m excited  I’m looking foward to this upcoming season.

Question: Are you excited for this years season?

Sheldon: Yes, I’m excited to play with my teammates.

Question: What does Ralph Blundo do different then other schools to help him win?

Sheldon: He teaches us to be tough on the court and gentlemen off the court.

Question: How often do you work out in a week?

Sheldon: Everyday besides Sunday

Question: How many shots do you think you put up in two weeks”

Sheldon:  “About 5000”

Question: What does this team mean to you?

Sheldon: Everyone on this team is like a brother to me.  We have each others backs not only on the court but in the classroom too.
