Alexis’ Poetry Corner December Review

Alexis Poetry Corner December Review

Alexis Lovett, Feature Editor

This segment is dedicated to my best friend of ten years, KeAnna Jones. We seem to fight a lot as best friends do and we laugh a lot as best friends do, but there’s nobody I’d rather call my best friend. I’d love to know her for a very long time in my life, but I can only hope.

KeAnna.
How have you been lately?
I know I don’t ask much                        Sometimes the world spins                               It’ll take away the gold dust so you’ll never win.

Do you feel pretty lately?
I won’t ask much
The world is spinning so fast
Where’s the sparkling dust you left a trail of? Your thoughts have already amassed.

Tell me if you feel alright.
I want to ask.
I’ll stop the Earth’s orbit for you
I can share my dust before it goes gray, It’s perfect blue.

I think you’ve been pretty lately
I’ll tell you now and again
Everything is froze
because of the friendship you chose, remains for the highs and lows.

           – Love, Alex.

Write to the ones you love the most sometimes because time runs quickly, and on nights where I can’t sleep, I’ll read things people have written to me. Whether it’s short or long, it’s important. That’s all for this segment of Alexis’ Poetry Corner, come again for another pretty poem.
