Question: What made you join the Eye of the Hurricane with Mr.Abe?

Gavin: I had Mr. Abe as a teacher my freshman year and I loved his class. He enhanced my writing and continues to with journalism.

Question- How many years have you been involved in the newspaper?

Gavin: This is my second year involved in the Eye of the Hurricane.

Question- Do you see any new ideas in the future with the Eye of the Hurricane newspaper?

Gavin: Just going from last year to this year we grew immensely  through our writing and the aesthetics of the website.

Question- What inspires you to write articles? 

 Gavin: I look for inspiration in my everyday life; whether that’s sports, what I do outside of school, or even just the things I see and hear other students talk about in the hallways.

Question- Are you involved in any sports and other after school activities?

Gavin: I am involved in football, track, and wrestling.

Question- Did you set any goals for yourself this year? 

Gavin: Yes, in school I set a goal to maintain a minimum of a 3.6 GPA and athletic wise I set a goal to improve from the previous seasons.

Question- What are you looking forward to do after high school?

Gavin: I plan to pursue a degree in physical therapy at a school that I have not yet decided.

Question-Do you have any advice for up coming students joining the paper?

Gavin: The only advice that I have is to come everyday with the mentality that you’re writing for the city’s newspaper. 

Question-What are you looking forward to the most for senior year?

Gavin: I’m most looking forward to polishing off my high school career with good grades, and leaving behind a good story on the eye of the hurricane paper.
