NFL Prospect Lamont McPhatter II/DB

The California University of Pennsylvania has put several players in the NFL, guys from Eric Kush, Erik Harris, Rontez Miles, Paul Butler, and Dewey McDonald. We have helped all of the players listed, and we feel there is another player to come out of CALPA. This year the Vulcans have a player named Lamont McPhatter II you better remember.

The 5’11 defensive back from New Castle, Pennsylvania is going into his senior year as a First-Team All-American according to almost every outlet include our own.  McPhatter II was a finalist for the Cliff Harris Award which awards the best defensive player in Division 2. He was voted the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year last season and was a force in the 9 games he played.  He finished with 63 total tackles (37 solos), led the team in interceptions with five, and led the nation, YES THE NATION, in return yards with 198.  Lamont had two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries last year as well and finished with 10 pass breakups. McPhatter II finished with an interception in four straight games last season and scored multiple touchdowns on defense. My favorite play of his was against Edinboro when he took an interception 100 yards to the house. McPhatter II was a transfer from Ball State and received the most outstanding Freshman award (John Hodge Award) where he appeared in 12 games with three starts as a freshman. At Ball State, Lamont finished with 42 tackles and 23 solos as a Freshman.  Lamont is a tremendous prospect but the New Castle native wanted to return home and did just that landing with the Vulcans.

Lamont is majoring in business administration with a minor in management.  In addition, he has one brother and three sisters and is the son of Jake and Kiley. Lamont McPhatter II will get a shot in the NFL, and I believe that he will have a tremendous professional career.  I feel he is the best small-school defensive back that no one is talking about yet.   Without a doubt, National Football League Scouts will be talking about him soon.
