I had the privilege to sit down with one of our P.E Teachers here at New Castle Sr. High, Mr. Kwolek, to get to know him better. Let’s check out how his school year is going!

Q: What made you want to be a P.E teacher?

My mother was an educator, She was an administrator at the Mohawk Area School District. She was always so good at what she did and I felt like I could duplicate that.

This is my 14th year at New Castle, 12 years at George Washington Intermediate, and 2 years at the high school.

Q: How long have you been teaching?

For 15 years, I taught in Raleigh, North Carolina for 18 months.

Q: What is your favorite part of teaching?

At first, it was setting up different activities for the younger kids on a daily basis, now it has changed to seeing the younger kids grow up to be young adults.

Q: What is your least favorite part of teaching?

Back when I was at GW, I was able to change the activities every day, but it’s hard to do that at the high school level to meet everyone’s wants

Q: What is your degree in?
Health and physical education with a minor in coaching and certification in social studies

Q: What are your goals for this year?

To implement a few more activities into gym class and introduce the new weight room which should arrive a little after Christmas.

Thank you Mr. Kwolek for a great interview. We hope you have a great rest of the year!
