NCAA Football Week 8

A lot of teams didn’t play in Week 8 because of their bye week. (16) Syracuse played (5) Clemson this week. Syracuse was winning 21-10 at halftime but never scored again in the game. In the 4th quarter, Clemson scored 17 points to win 21-27. Their quarterback DJ Uiagalelei threw for 138 yards but had two interceptions by Ja’Had Carter and Jason Simmons Jr. DJ rushed for 13 yards. Running backs Will Shipley and Phil Mafah rushed for a combined 266 yards and three touchdowns. Syracuse quarterback Garrett Shrader threw for 167 and one touchdowns. He threw an interception to RJ Mickens. Shrader was the team’s leading rusher with 71 yards and one touchdown. Sean Tucker rushed for 54 yards.
The (20) Cincinnati Bearcats played SMU Mustangs and SMU almost won but Cincinnati held them off 29-27. Cincinnati’s quarterback Ben Bryant threw for 200 yards. Running back Charles McClelland rushed for 129 yards and one touchdown. Cincinnati’s kicker Ryan Coe kicked 5 field goals. SMU’s quarterback Tanner Mordecai threw for 105 yards and one touchdown. He threw an interception to Arquon Bush. Preston Stone threw for 74 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 22 yards. Their running back Camar Wheaton rushed for 53 yards. Cincinnati ran the ball more than SMU but only had 16 first downs with SMU having 21 first downs.
(22) Kansas State played (7) TCU and both teams combined for 66 points and it was a very close game. Kansas State’s quarterback Will Howard threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns and one interception to Trevius Hodges Tomlinson. Howard rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown. Running back Deuce Vaughn rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown. TCU’s quarterback Max Duggan threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns. Duggan rushed for 13 yards. Kendre Miller and Emari Demarcado rushed for a combined 196 yards and two touchdowns by Kendre Miller. Jared Wiley, Quentin Johnston, and Derius Davis all caught a touchdown. TCU got 495 total yards and Kansas State got 390 total yards.
