 PROCRASTINATION

I finished this article the last day it was due. That is an example of procrastination that may be true. Procrastination is when a person always postpones, delays, and basically waits to do it last minute. People who do this frequently are called procrastinators, and they love to take the easy way out or make up excuses as to why they can not start or finish a task. In Latin the prefix “pro” means to move forward while “crastinus” means tomorrow or later. Procrastination is normally associated with academic matters.

If you find yourself a victim to yourself here are some ways to overcome this challenge:

No Fascination In Procrastination

  1. Most Importantly-Write dates down!!! Your pen and paper are your best friend!!
  2. Get into a routine…do homework and projects at a certain designated time-be consistent!!
  3. Count on a friend to encourage you to follow your schedule and responsibilities!!
  4. Celebrate success of meeting deadlines!!  For example: treat yourself to an ice cream!
  5.  Minimize Distractions!
  6.  Prioritize your activity!
  7.  Commit to the Task!
  8.  Use positive self-talk!!!

Please don’t forget, to always utilize the above remedies-and always get your calendar (planner) out  for planning your day!!
