The New Castle High School Baseball team finished the season with a 10-8 record.  The Canes under the tutelage of Coach Elisco  had a even better run in the WPIAL playoffs.  The Canes baseball team advanced to the Second Round of the WPIAL Playoffs on Monday, May 21, 2018 when they played  Ringgold at Washington and Jefferson College.  The Canes fought hard and came up short with a 5-4 loss.  The Canes will lose eleven seniors this year.  They are as follows: Nick DeRosa, Anthony Cioffi,  Bobby Salem, Nick Rubis, Mark Torsello, Alex Fee, Marcus Hooker, Julian Medina, Tim Thomas, Joey Morgan, and Zachary Walker.  Next year, the Canes will have four remaining starters for next season (Jake Grippo, Matt Senchak, Brayden Cartwright, and Nic Morell).
