I recently had the opportunity to interview Nurse Kielar.  Not only is Nurse Kielar one of our school nurses but is also a graduate of New Castle High School-Class of 1997.  I hope you enjoy this interview-Nolan Henry   

Where did you attend high school?

-New Castle High School

What year did you graduate high school?

-1997

Where did you attend college?

-Duquesne University & Carlow College

What year did you graduate college?

-Duquesne-2001 BSN

Carlow-2004 CSN

Did you always want to be a nurse?

-No, I actually started out as a biology major.

Why did you choose this career?

-I chose this career because I have always had the desire to care for and help people in need.  

Do you work at any hospitals or is New Castle high school your only place of work?

– I have worked at UPMC Jameson in CCU up until this month.

How long have you been working at New Castle high school?

-I have worked for the school district for 14 years and the high school for 10 years.

Is New Castle the only school district you have worked in, if not what other districts have you worked in?

-Yes, this is the only school district that I have worked in.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

-I have always loved children and I love being able to educate and help them when they aren’t feeling well.
