For almost all NFL (National Football League) rookies, a signature debut brings along many tensions and a great amount of stress. Any rookie in the NFL probably tends to be a little anxious playing in their very first game as a professional, especially as a first round pick. However, for the New Castle, Pennsylvania native Malik Hooker, it was all about taking in the amazing experience. Hooker was drafted in the first round as the fifteenth pick of the draft by the Indianapolis Colts. He described the entire experience of his debut, competing against the Detroit Lions with a great amount of excitement. Besides, making your NFL debut is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Hooker had an impressive debut, gathering four tackles, and playing 23 total snaps. After the game, he went on to talk about the experience in more detail. “Man, it was an exciting thing for me”, Hooker described, based on his experience. Malik hasn’t played a snap of football for an actual game in seven months prior to his debut, but based on his performance, nobody would’ve thought that was the case. Malik Hooker had en exceptional NFL debut, and is expected to keep playing at such an impressive level to assist his team in multiple victories over the 2017-2018 NFL season.
