STEAM GOES TO THE WORLDS’

New Castle Junior/Senior High School robotics teams have qualified for the 2019 Vex Robotics Worlds’ Competition. The International challenge is set for April 24-28 in Louisville Kentucky. The three teams were among six from New Castle and among 45 teams in Western PA.  All six of New Castle teams scored high enough on the state level to make it to qualifications rounds and the final elimination matches. On the state level, 16101X received the excellence award. This team also won the robot skills finalist award for finishing 2nd in the driving skills and programming skills challenge. Team 16101Z won the state robot skills champion award presented for the highest combined programming and driving skills challenge score. The third qualifying team from New Castle, 16101Y won the design award as the team demonstrated an organized and professional approach to the design process, project and time management and team organization
