We are mid-way through the 2017 high school football season and the junior varsity team has been nearly unstoppable. Led by JV coach Pat Cain, the squad is currently 4-1.   Thus far they have defeated Ambridge, Highlands, Montour, and Mars. The teams only loss came to the strong South Fayette JV team with the final score being 27-16.

The quarterback duties are shared by Daniel Minenok and Donovan Crocket. Both players bring impressive abilities to the team. The two quarterbacks unique play styles and leadership are a key to the success of the team. The offense has been explosive winning 58 to 6 to Ambridge. This victory being the most notable, was only one of there remarkable wins.

Defensively the team has been very stingy giving up yardage.  Standouts of the defensive team include:

Sophmore defensive lineman Braeden Bailey, Senior defensive lineman Nick Mulford and Sophmore safety Daniel Minenok. The defense has been strong holding there opponents out of the end zone quite often. The defensive stops the lineup collects are a huge factor to the teams recent success. The big defensive line and explosive secondary makes it tough for teams to find any offensive opportunities.

As the 2017 season comes  to an end the junior varsity team has given the Canes a  strong foundation for a positive future.
