Legends Lost Mr. Zidow

Much respected and beloved teacher Mr. Mike Zidow passed away on June 1, 2020. Mr. Zidow was born in New Castle, May 5, 1943. Mr. Zidow was a New Castle High School alumnus graduating in 1960. Mr. Zidow earned a Bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock and a Master’s in Education degree from Westminster. Mr. Zidow taught Spanish at New Castle High School for 54 years and continued substituting into his retirement. During his time as a substitute Mr. Zidow spent unlimited time and generosity reaching out to all of our students. He will be truly missed by all.

Congratulations to the class of 2020 seniors and the Eye of the Hurricane Staff! You all, once again, have done an amazing job representing yourselves and our school community. Seniors, you will be truly missed. Seniors, feel the top of your head…. I think there is a cap in sight! Thank you to all of you who took your assignments and work seriously and worked to the end. You have fought a good fight, and you have finished your course. You truly deserve to be celebrated. We are all so excited to see the great things that you all will accomplish. Please be safe and enjoy your family.
