Hailey Gonzales, Sports Editor

I recently had the opportunity to interview sophomore Tyler Leekins before Friday’s home game. I did a quick ten-question interview and here is how it went:

Tyler: Seven years. I started in 3rd grade.

Question: Why did you start playing football?

Tyler: I saw my older brother play and I wanted to be just like him.

Question: Who are you closest to on the team?

Tyler: Isaiah Jefferson. He has been like a brother to me ever since we started playing together.

Question: How do you keep yourself motivated during games?

Tyler: I just try my hardest to focus on the game and block out everything else.

Question: Who is your biggest inspiration and why?

Tyler: My brother, Julian, He’s always been someone I looked up to.

Question: What’s your personal goal for the season?

Tyler: I want to be the best I can be at my position.

Question: What’s your dream college to attend?

Tyler: Ohio State University.

Question: If you could play for any pro team, who would you play for and why?

Tyler: Kansas City Chiefs. They have been my favorite team since I was a little kid.

Question: How do you prepare yourself before games?

Tyler: I hype myself up and listen to music.

Question: Finally, who is your favorite pro player, and why?

Tyler: Tyreek Hill. He’s an absolute beast.
