Steel City Back in the Playoffs!?

Angel Porras, Author

The Pittsburgh Steelers clinched the last AFC Wild Card spot in week 18 surprising scenario. Before the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-7-1) beat the Baltimore Ravens (8-9-0), they had a nine-percent chance of clinching a playoff miracle. After the win earlier that Sunday at 1:00 PM, that percentage raised up to ninety-nine percent. This was due to a surprising victory with the last-place team in the NFL, Jacksonville Jaguars (3-14-0) destroying the hot Indianapolis Colts (9-8-0).

The only thing stopping the black and gold team was a tie between the Los Angeles Chargers (9-8-0) and the Las Vegas Raiders (10-7-0). Yet, that one-percent chance of not making the playoffs nearly happened making Steeler nation almost cry. This tremendous game was a shoot-out where, in the end, the Raiders won. The final score was 35-32 with a Daniel Carlson 47-yard field goal to win the game in overtime with 0 seconds on the clock. The Steelers have the seventh seed facing the dangerous second seed Kansas City Chiefs (12-5-0) at Arrowhead Stadium. The game is at 8:15 PM on Sunday, January 16. Could this be Ben Roethlisberger’s last game or can he move onto the divisional round of the playoffs?Â
