Interview with Mr. Stefano

Shelby Norris, Author

I had the opportunity to interview one of our History teachers here at New Castle Sr. High School, Mr. Stefano. Let’s get to know him a little better and see how his school year is going so far.

Q-What college did you attend?

I have a bachelor’s in history from Slippery Rock, I have a master’s in Secondary Education from Duquesne University, and a Masters in Public Affairs from The University of Pitt.

Q-How is the school year going?

It’s been good so far, with no complaints.

Q-How long have you been a teacher?

This would be my 23rd year teaching.

Q-What made you want to become a teacher?

I had many good teachers that inspired me and I enjoy talking about history and government and anything about social studies.

Q-What is your favorite part of being a teacher?

I like talking with students about the subject matter and current events.

Q-How long have you been working at New Castle?

All 23 years of my career!

Q-What are the goals for this school year?

I hope that in some way I can help my students be more aware of the past and how it connects to current events and how that all impacts them and their lives.
