A new school year is upon us and it means a full reset on most of the extracurricular activities. This includes Academic Games.

What is Academic Games?

You might be asking yourself, what are Academic Games? Academic Games is a national organization that has made it its goal to promote excellence through academic competition. The league is open to anyone who is interested in strengthening their academic knowledge,  developing collaborative and team skills, and making new friends and is dedicated to representing their school’s academic team locally and nationally.

When are the Competitions?

Competitions take place at Slippery Rock Univerity; Each competition is divided into divisions by the following age groups: Novice, Elementary, Middle School, and High School. All age groups play with the same set of procedural rules. However, each division level of competition introduces more difficult concepts or questions for the players.

How Do I Join?

If this is something that interests you, you can sign up anytime in Mrs. Neff’s room (105). Mrs. Neff needs at least 5 students to field a team for New Castle. Represent your school well, Canes! Show everyone that New Castle is good at something other than basketball. If you wish to learn more about Academic Games, you can email Mrs. Neff at [email protected]
