How Can The Pittsburgh Steelers Make the NFL Playoffs?
January 4, 2023
After a 16-13 win over the division rival Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers see themselves still in a chance for a wild card spot in the 2023 NFL Playoff.
They are now tied in the standings at an 8-8 record with the Patriots and the Dolphins in the AFC wild-card race. New England still holds onto the No. 7 spot and Miami is at No. 8.
What needs to go right?
- The Steelers must win their week 18 games against the Browns.
- The Bills must win their week 18 game against New England.
- The Jets must win their week 18 game against the Dolphins.
For Steelers fans, the tunnel is bright. The Bills beat the Patriots 24-10 in a week 13 matchup in New England and now will face them again in Buffalo. Miami might be down both of their QBs, Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater, against a Jets team just eliminated from playoff contention that will be looking to play the role of spoiler.
The best Pittsburgh can get is the No. 7 seed. There are only three possible opponents they could face in the first round of the playoffs should they reach the postseason: the Chiefs, Bills, or Bengals. By beating the Ravens last week, Pittsburgh eliminated Baltimore from contention for the No. 2 seed.
The Steelers will take on the Browns at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Plenty of action to watch this weekend.
