The last King and Queen of Hearts event was back in 2019. New Castle Sr. High recently brought back the King and Queen of Hearts event this year and has raised over $17,000 which will all be donated to help one of our classmates, Raequelle Young.  

Raequelle is a Junior here at New Castle High School and a member of the New Castle Softball Team. She has been bravely fighting cancer over the past months and in order to help with the very expensive treatments and procedures, New Castle Senior High School brought back the King and Queen of Hearts event to help raise money for Raequelle. It was a great success! There were 36 juniors and seniors who combined their efforts to raise over $17,000 dollars for Raequelle.

The Prince and Princess of hearts were Juniors Angel Porras and Mara Droeder, who raised over $2,900. The King and Queen of Hearts were Neena Flora and I, Dom Cade, both seniors, who raised over $2,200. 

To see what a community is able to accomplish in order to help one another is amazing see and being part of it, is something even better. A thank you goes out to anyone who donated and we will continue to fight together as a community alongside Raequelle and her family.
