The 2023 March Madness Tournament is starting on March 14 and I am going over my top 5 teams heading into March Madness. Houston, UCLA, Alabama, Purdue, and Tennessee.

5th- Tennessee. They have been a solid team and they’ve become a lot better in the 2nd half of the season, they are 14-2 at home and I expect them to do very well. Tennessee was eliminated last year by Michigan. Santiago Vescovi has 356 points this year and he is averaging 12.7 points per game.

4th- Purdue. They have been a solid team and they’ve been better their center Zach Edey has been named the Player of the Year. He has averaged 21.9 points per game. He also leads in rebounds for the team with 12.

3rd- Alabama. They’ve been a really good team this year with a 26-5 record, they are 1st in the SEC right now and they’ve only lost twice against teams in their division, they are coming off of a 61-67 loss to Texas A&M. Brandon Miller has been their best player with 19.6 points per game and 607 points total.

2nd. UCLA. Undefeated at home, UCLA is 27-4 and is on a winning streak of 10. Jaime Jaquez Jr is averaging 17.4 points per game and has 558 points total2 I do not expect them to be close to winning the Championship this year and I expect them to lose in an upset. 

1st. Houston. This team has earned it being number 1, they are 29-2 and on a winning streak of 11, both of their losses have come at home, and I expect them to lose to Alabama in the championship game.

These are the top 5 teams heading into March Madness, it is going to be a very exciting tournament and my pick to win the 2023 championship is Alabama.
