New Castle Bocce season is underway! We had the chance to sit down with one of the coaches here at New Castle, Mrs. Lisa Hites. Make sure you get out and see this awesome team!

Q- How long has the bocce program been at NCASD?

A-“The program has been at NCASD since the 2016/2017 school year.”

Q-What is Bocce?

A-“The pallina is rolled by a member of the team having won the coin toss to start the game. The player tossing the pallina must roll the ball first. The opposing team will then toss their bocce balls until the point is taken or they have used their four balls. The team with the nearest balls win. Bocce includes students with disabilities to partner with regular ed students.”

Q-Who is our biggest competitor? 

A- “Shenango Township”

Q-What are you most excited about this season?

A-“Working with new players”

Q-What will be the biggest challenge?

A-“Finding time to practice.”

Q-Who is on the New Castle Bocce team?”

A- “Seniors- Trileise Jordan, Andrew Kladitis, Addi Shields, Junior- Alex White, Sophomores- Aidan Allen, Nikolos Kladitis, Gianna Kneram, and Freshman- Nick Fair”
