The Spanish and French classes had a chance to visit Pitt University. Here is how our experience and trip went. Hopefully, this sparks your interest about joining Spanish or French next year. I, myself got an opportunity to tag along. Thank you to Mrs.Vournous for setting this trip up for our classes. It was a really cool experience. I hope to go again next year.
Specifically, the canes toured the Cathedral Of Learning. Inside the Cathedral, they learned to find a number of unique and historic spaces. The Nationality Rooms are a collection of 30 classrooms and other spaces that are each designed to represent a different culture or nationality from around the world. These beautiful and intricate rooms are open to the public for tours and are a popular destination for visitors to the University of Pittsburgh.
The Cathedral also houses a number of academic departments, administrative offices, and other facilities. The grand architecture and rich history makes it a beloved and important part of the University of Pittsburgh’s campus, as well as a symbol of the university’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
After the tour we had some extra time to go have lunch at the PPG place located in downtown Pittsburgh. The building is known for its striking design. The centerpiece of PPG Place is the 40-story glass tower, which is one of the tallest buildings in Pittsburgh. The tower is made of 19,750 pieces of glass and features a unique triangular shape. The shape allows for maximum natural light and stunning views of the city skyline. PPG also features a number of retail shops, restaurants, and other amenities. The building’s outdoor plaza is a popular gathering place for locals and visitors.
