[ Today I am interviewing a 10th-grade student by the name, Kenisha Kilpatrick! She is going to talk to me about her view’s on school life and her personal opinions and school experiences. ]
Coryn: “Give me a brief summary about your tenth-grade year so far.”
Kenisha: “It’s been rough but i’ve had a lot of commitment in working hard knowing that im almost finished with my high school career. The teachers are pushing us to our maximum this year in terms of school assignments”
Coryn: “What do you like most about your average school day?”
Kenisha: “My biology class taught by Mrs. Quimpy and my math class taught by Mrs. Joseph, they make it easy for their students to learn and they make it engaging.”
Coryn: “How do you feel about your homeroom class/teacher?”
Kenisha: “It’s tiring, mostly because it’s the first class of the day.”
Coryn: “What are three things that can improve your learning experiences in your classes? List specific teachers.”
Kenisha: “Stefano can have more hands-on and engaging activities. Mrs. Generao can distribute her work better, her class feels rushed and is too fast-paced to actually comprehend the work. We as students need breaks and it’s not easy to be overworked.”
Coryn: “What are your favorite classroom activities so far this year?”
Kenisha: “Mr. Quimpy’s labs and notes, Mr. Sibeto’s notes, and Mrs. Joseph’s notes.”
Coryn: “Whats one change you can make to become a better student?”
Kenisha: “Staying on top of my assignments better.”
Coryn: “Whats something you are struggling to understand most right now academically?”
Kenisha: “Why teachers are pressuring us so much towards the end of the year.”
Coryn: “Do you think staff outside of teachers are also engaging in supporting students academically? (i.e guidance counslors, aid, couches)
Kenisha: “I feel like most can do a better job. Like some coaches only focus on certain students or certain activities they need ”
