Russell Westbrook has achieved various accolades throughout his career. Drafted in 2008 from UCLA, Westbrook was an instant success for the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team, making the NBA All-Rookie first team his first season. He impacted the league early on as between the 2011 and 2013 seasons, he made the All NBA 2nd team 3 times, and participated in the annual All-Star game every year.

But as he ages he is only getting better as he set history and became one of only two players to ever average a triple double throughout the course of an entire NBA season. The only other player to achieve this goal was NBA hall of famer Oscar Robertson in the 1962 season. This incredible run occurred during the 2016-2017 season as he also beat the single triple double record with 42, also held by Robertson. His season was one of the most phenomenal performances NBA fans have ever seen as he averaged 31.6 points per game, 10.4 assists per game, and 10.7 rebounds per game. As it seemed this impeccable season couldn’t get any better, he was awarded the 2017 NBA MVP award and was also named the NBA’s scoring champion for the year to add on his list of accolades.

Although the 2018 year isn’t going quite as incredible for Westbrook, he is still carrying the Thunder to key victories. He is almost averaging a triple double once again as hes averaging 25 points, 9 rebounds, and  10 assists per game and is to be participating in this years All-Star game. As the team continues gathering wins, Westbrook will make a push to win his first NBA Finals this year.
