New Man on Campus Spring Edition!
March 1, 2018
Three football seasons ago, Pat Minenok was throwing touchdown passes and bringing the crowd to their feet with big hits at Taggart Stadium. Now, the Ne-Ca-Hi alum and former Slippery Rock athlete will be turning heads and making an impression at a new site: Youngstown State University. Minenok enrolled at YSU during the spring semester and has been attending spring practice (he cannot practice or work out with team until the summer due to NCAA regulations) and training with former teammate, fellow Ne-Ca-Hi alum, and 2017 1st team all-Missouri Valley Conference running back Tevin McCaster. The NCAA states that athletes transferring from a Division II school to a Division I school must lose a year of eligibility, meaning that Minenok must sit out a year. He will still be able to practice and train with the team, starting in the summer, but he will not be able to dress and play in any games this upcoming season. Minenok plans on playing safety for the Penguins, and at 5’11”, 205 pounds, is a freak in the weight room. So as you get caught up in the fanfare of college football and the NFL next season, make sure you remember the name Pat Minenok for years to come.
