My Father, Eric Francis, graduated from New Castle High School Class of 1978-I had the opportunity to discuss his memories at Ne-Ca-Hi as well as his perspective on leading a productive life.

Question: What year did you graduate and what was a fun memory when you went to New Castle?

“I graduated the Class of 1978-fun memory would definitively be playing Beaver Falls in 1977-78 year and spitting the section title.”

Question: What did you do after high school?

“I joined the Air Force and after, I went to Slippery Rock University for Environmental Science.”

Question: What was your favorite class in high school?

“Problems of Democracy with Mr. DiMuccio.”

Question: What was your favorite class in college and why?

“Sociology, because we broke down structures of different classes of people and how people are structured out in society.”

Question: What did you do in the Air Force?

“Security Contractor”

Question: What are some challenges you had in the Air Force?

“A lot of the constant training and taking security serious because we all felt safe.”

Question: What advice would you give kids in high school these days?

“Go to college and take something that is productive and makes you employable.  Also, go get your Master Degree as soon as possible”

Question: What is the best thing about our community?

“The rich history and everybody knowing everybody.”

Question: What is the best memory with your son Tyler?

“Attending numerous Pirate Games, court side seats at Pitt games, and watching New Castle vs North Allegheny play at NA.”
