Getting to Know Mrs. Vournous with Just 9 Questions

I recently had the time to interview one of my favorite teachers, Mrs. Vournous. Mrs. Vournous Is a Spanish teacher at New Castle Senior High School. She was asked 9 questions about her and her teaching career.

1. How long have you been teaching?

I have been teaching for 5 years.

2. What inspired you to teach?

My Spanish teacher, Mrs. Santiago, inspired me to teach.

3. How has having a kid of your own helped you with your job?

Having a kid definitely helped me have more patience.

4. Where did you go to college?

I went to Slippery Rock.

5. Where was your first teaching experience?

My first teaching experience was at Farrell High School and it was hard because it was my first time ever teaching.

6. How was your first job?

The first job was very hard, and I worked very long hours.

7. What grade do you prefer to teach?

I prefer teaching Elementary kids.

8. Do you believe it is important for kids to learn a language?

I believe it is important for kids to learn a new language because there are so many people speaking Spanish in America today.

9. When should kids start to learn a language?

I believe kids should start taking a Spanish course while they are in Middle school.
