Mr. Swartzfager Interview

Mr. Swartzfager is a student teacher from Slippery Rock University.  Recently, Mr. Swartfager sat down for an Eye of the Hurricane interview.  

Q: When did you decide to become a teacher?

A: I decided to become a teacher senior year of high school.

Q: Why did you decide to become a teacher?

A: Because I had influential teachers from 9th grade on and I liked the idea of helping students.

Q: Was history your favorite subject in high school?

A: Yes especially World War 1.  The war to end all wars!

Q: What made your favorite teacher your favorite?

.A: His ability to expand on content and to add interesting stories.

Q: What do you like most about student teaching here at New Castle Senior High School?

A: Getting to experience different types of students!

Q: What do you like about Slippery Rock University?

A: I like the close community feeling where you can get extra help from professors and you can experience college events in a close family style.

Q: What type of student were you in high school?

A: I was a frustrating student that was smarter than what I gave more effort

Q: What will you miss about school?

A: Just the friends  I made and all the great experiences of both school and activities.

Q: What do you plan to do after graduation?

A: Get a teaching job in Maryland.

Q: What’s stressful about college?

A: Trying to judge school work and addiction responsibilities you didn’t have growing up.
