There are many extracurricular activities to participate in at New Castle High School. As a musically inclined student, I prefer to participate in styles of activities that fit my given talents. Drumline is that outlet of musical expression for me. From the very moment that I held the drumsticks in my hand, I knew that drumming would become a passion of mine. It all started in fourth grade, and I have never lost my love for it ever since. As the years have passed, I have continued to put a piece of myself in everything I do in the drumline. The friendships that turned into families, the gifted that turned into prodigies, and the simple drumsticks that turned into music. These are the things I admire the most about what I do. Drumline for me is like a home away from home, a place where I can be passionate about the things I love with the people I love. It has changed me in a way I cannot begin to describe. As my senior year flies by, I am going to cherish the last of these memories that the drumline has given me. I will remember the chills during the drumline solos, the rush of adrenaline as the drumstick landed on its target, and the applauding audience, for the rest of my life.
