Balancing Work and School as a Teen!

Being a teen comes with many responsibilities like work and school. You do not have to get a job but many students like to. You have to be able to balance both these things. These are some ideas or tips that  may help you.

  1. If you are wanting to get a job make sure they have flexible hours. You want to be able to put down the hours that you are able to work without having to worry about calling off.

    2. Make sure your grades are good because if they aren’t you are going to have to maintain your grades as well as work. Your grades are always going to be more important that’s why you need to keep them decent.

   3. Managing your time is also important. If you already have a busy schedule and then you add a job onto it you are going to struggle big time. With a job, you can select the days and hours but they may get annoyed at you if you can only come in on certain days and only work certain hours.

 4. Sleep needs to be considered as well. Your sleep schedule needs to be decent or you will become extremely tired. If you are working a seven-hour shift then having to come home and do homework you will most likely not even do your homework, this will cause you to fall behind.

  5. Make sure wherever you decide to work that they are aware that you may have school activities or sports. If you wait to tell them till your season starts they may not give you the days off because it was last minute. Giving them a heads up that you are apart of school activities or sports will make you seem like you have everything together.

I hope these tips will help you as you pursue a student-work life.
