The Effects On Mental Health During COVID Pandemic

Hailey Gonzales, Feature Writer

During this tragic COVID pandemic, we have all suffered and lost something, whether we like to admit it or not. This said loss could be something as tragic as a loved one or as simple as our sports season. However, one problem that has been looked over both during this pandemic and before it is the mental health of Americans.

Being stuck at home has put a mental strain on all of us- some more than others. An increase in people that have begun to develop mental health problems during this pandemic has caused this truly horrible problem to come to light. However, I hope that once this pandemic is over, people realize that we should not waste time diminishing others’ mental health, but working and focusing on ourselves and appreciating all the little things in life. Why choose to waste your time judging others when you can be spending your time figuring out what it is like to truly live?

I am hopeful that we can all work together to help make something good come out of such a tragic time. If being at home has taught me, and hopefully all of you readers anything, life is too short to waste any time. Live your life to the fullest, and don’t stop others from doing the same, even if the how is different. Let’s let 2021 be the year of change and bettering the mental health of people all around the world.
