College Search and Preparation Through The Pandemic

Covid-19 has been a major setback for future college students to try to prepare for the next several years of their lives. We are unable to physically see some campuses and speak in person with college counselors due to the safety guidelines that were put in place.

This has led to many students having to choose a college by going on an in-person tour all by themselves or doing a virtual tour, which is not a very helpful way to help you make a decision. Many students are having to make such a big decision about where to spend the next few years of their lives without being able to see the inside of any housing, classrooms, or labs.

With that being said, students going into college for their first fall semester are more likely to feel unprepared. Not only does the entire aspect of finding the right fit for students seem overwhelming, but it also increases the stress of college with finding roommates, classes, meal plan changes, etc.

As a group of seniors in high school, choosing a college to attend has been harder than we imagined. Many things have felt behind schedule, and there are many students who found increased difficulty in choosing their major, let alone a college that offers their major, along with feeling like the proper fit for the student.
