The 2023 Rolex 24 at DAYTONA will consist of 61 total cars (a full grid, as per IMSA rules) with 5 different classes, GTP, LMP2, LMP3, GTD PRO, and GTD. The Rolex 24 is a 24-hour endurance race that takes place at the Daytona International Speedway on the road course version of the track. A quick rule outline for new fans:

Per Article 12.2 of the IMSA Sporting Regulations, “all nominated drivers must drive their car in a race. A driver is considered to have “driven” a car if registered the corresponding Driver ID on taking the start of the race on the track, or crossing the pit exit timing loop after the start of the race.

Per Article 12.10, “during the race, drivers should achieve and/or maintain a lap time at least equal to 115% of the best time achieved by the fastest car in the driver’s respective class.”

Per Article 12.13, “each driver must individually achieve the Minimum Drive-Time (MDT) of two (2) hours [to be scored with points for the event].”

The 2023 Rolex 24 at DAYTONA is scheduled to take place on January 28-29, starting at 1:30 pm EST on NBC. Flag-to-flag coverage will be streamed on Peacock. The race will rotate between NBC and the NBC-owned USA Network.

This race is set to be a thriller, Canes! Who can stay awake and make it all 24 hours?
