New Teachers and Staff — With NCASD

New Teachers and Staff --- With NCASD

Hi Canes, a new school year means, new teachers and staff. Check teachers and staff members who are new to the district.

Taryn Montgomery

This is my first year as a real teacher in the classroom, but I was a substitute at George Washington last year. I am loving the school year so far. Everyone has been so welcoming and it has been great getting to know my students. Outside of school, I love to read, go shopping, spend time with friends, and play with my kitten, Boo! I went to Slippery Rock University and have a Bachelor of Science in Education.

Sierra Johnson

This is my first year with the New Castle School District. I taught at a private school for 1 year helping students with learning and behavioral needs. I love Lockley and being back at my Alma Mater with my former teachers as my coworkers and people I still learn from has been a full-circle moment. I love spending time with my family doing crafts and going shopping. I attended Slippery Rock University and graduated in 2021 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (PK-4) and Special Education (PK-12). I am currently working towards my Master’s Degree from Youngstown State University and will graduate this spring with a Master’s in Special Education with a concentration in Intervention Specialist.

Kylee Francis

She is the new school nurse at Lockley Elementary. I have been a nurse for 4 years working in cardiac care in the hospital setting. This is my first time working in a school setting, and so far I am loving it! My husband, Ryan, and I enjoy traveling and attending sporting events. I graduated from Westminster College with a Sociology degree and worked as a case manager. I then graduated from Jameson Hospital School of Nursing with a diploma in nursing. My Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree was received from Pennsylvania State University.

Madison Ramsey

This is my first year teaching, but I have done some substituting beforehand in Waynesburg, PA. For me, it was a quick start but everyone has been super helpful in getting me started and my students have been great. I’m excited to continue to get to know everyone and keep going to some activities. I enjoy walking my dog outside, hiking with my husband, traveling, taking photos, and spending time with family and friends. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Waynesburg University.

Tom Varrati

I taught at Sharpsville School District in Mercer County for the last two years It’s going great! Everyone here has been so helpful, kind, and encouraging. I have two kids (4 & 2) so most of my hobbies revolve around toys and bluey, but occasionally when they sleep I enjoy watching sports, reading fiction, and playing video games. If you see the new staff around your building be sure to greet them and say hi. Thanks for reading Canes!
