Mr. Curry and the Yearbook Team

Stephanie Toy, Managing Editor

As the school year begins to end, sales for yearbooks are only beginning. A yearbook is a good way to commemorate the past year and to have a physical, visual memory of your school year and the peers you shared it with. The yearbook team is tasked every year with creating this document, which means taking lots of pictures. Mr. Curry, an English teacher here at the school, is in charge of the yearbook team. Mr. Curry gave us some insight into what goes on in the making of the yearbook.

Q: What is the best part about being in charge of the yearbook team? What is the worst part?

A:  “I think the best thing about being a part of the yearbook is creating a historical document for the school and community.  The most difficult thing about being a part of the yearbook is making deadlines and relying on students to take photos of events.”

Q: What is the purpose of the yearbook team?

A: “The purpose of the yearbook team is to collect photos of events throughout the school year, and produce a document that can be viewed and enjoyed for years.”

Q: How long does it take to create the yearbook?

A: “It takes an entire school year to construct a yearbook.  Sometimes it goes into the summer because of events that occur at the end of the year such as graduation.”

Q: Do you enjoy what you do as far as the yearbook team?

A: “I do enjoy being in charge of the yearbook team.  At times it is challenging, but for the most part, it is an enjoyable experience.”

Creating the yearbook is a big responsibility, but the end result is priceless. Your yearbook can be a visual reminder of some of the best times in your life, your time in high school.
