The New Castle Red Hurricanes Track & Field team is kicking off a new season under the leadership of first-year head coach, Coach Jeffery Shaftic. While this is his first year as head coach of the track team, Coach Shaftic is no stranger to New Castle athletics. He has spent 16 years as an assistant coach for the track team and has led the New Castle Cross Country team as head coach for 18 years.
The Red Hurricanes have built a tradition of excellence, winning the section championship title in 12 of the last 14 seasons. With such a strong foundation, the team is determined to continue its success under Coach Shaftic’s guidance.
