The Warped Tour is a traveling rock tour that has toured the United States (including 3 or 4 stops in Canada) annually each summer since 1995. It is the largest traveling music festival in the United States, and is the longest-running touring music festival in North America. The first Warped tour took place in 1995, and the skateboard shoe manufacturer Vans became the main sponsor of the tour starting with the second tour in 1996, when it became known as the Vans Warped Tour. Although Vans has continued to be the main sponsor and lend its name to the festival, other sponsors have also participated, with stages or other aspects of the festival sometimes being named after them.

Warped Tour carries a variant of genres with them such as rock, punk rock, pop punk, pop, post-hardcore, metalcore, electonic, hip hop, ska and many others. Its dates usually set around June-August and take place in the US and Canada. It has been on the road since 1995 to present day, and is founded by Kevin Lyman.

Warped tour was conceived in 1995 as an electric alternative rock festival, but in 1996 began focusing on punk rock music. Although it has continued to be known primarily as a punk rock festival, it has included acts of diverse genres over the years.

On November 15, 2017, Kevin Lyman announced that the 2018 Vans Warped Tour would be the final, full cross-country run. Lyman did hint to a large celebration in 2019, the 25th year of the show.

The warped tour has become a launching pad for many up and coming artists. The festival has been attributed to bringing unknown artists like Black Veil Brides, Avenged Sevenfold, Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, Limp Bizkit, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, MGK, Katy Perry and Yelawolf to the spotlight. The Vans Warped Tour appeals to a slightly diverse audience. The tour started as a tour that centered punk and has evolved into a festival that includes ska, pop, and hip-hop. The skate scene has attracted many people to Warped Tour. The tour includes a half pipe for skaters to skate on.

The Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands takes place at Warped Tour every year. Over 10,000 bands tried out for the battle of the bands in 2005. The bands preform at their local Warped Tour date and are judged by professionals from the music industry. If the bands do well in the competition, they get to preform as a side stage act on the Ernie Ball Stage of the Vans Warped Tour.
