Alexis’ Poetry Corner

Alexis Poetry Corner

In another segment of Alexis’ Poetry Corner, all was brought together to welcome in a guest poet Mercedes Barge with her own poem There Is A Light In The Dark.

Mercedes easily formed shapes with her poetry, and showed examples of not having to rhyme when writing poetry like mentioned in an earlier segment.

With an hopeful title, the message is easily read with words full of hope of being in a dark place, trying and succeeding to see the light through all of the dark which may be covering your eyes.

As mentioned in a past Alexis’ Poetry Corner, Mercedes may perceive this as something different than you and I may perceive this poetry. Poetry at which makes you think about what the meaning is, will always be the best to me.

There Is A Light In The Dark

by: Mercedes Barge

Skies so grey like smoke from a forest fire.

Why so grey? Why so sad? Who knows in this world?

Can you tell me why some people can’t see the light and why those same people are consumed in ones darkness.

There are two types of people in this world.

There are the grey thinkers and there are the black or white thinkers.

Which one are you? The world is dark and a scary place that will consume anything in its path, but where there is darkness or evil there is light or good that can save you… you just have to find it.

If you focus on the negative you’ll miss out on the positive.

Even if it’s hard to be positive when you’re being consumed by the hate and despair inside you, just try to think of the good and you will succeed if you only try.

There is light in the dark.

As you can read, Mercedes pushes the feeling of hope to shower any dark thoughts which took place during the reader or even Mercedes time reading this, even having a lasting expression on the reader to keep dear to ones heart.

Good messages in poetry can mix with the bad to make something bittersweet.

I hope you enjoyed the second segment on Alexis’ Poetry Corner.
