If you keep up with current events, especially foreign affairs, you must have heard about the current problems with North Korea and the United States. The two supreme powers have kept the peace since the end of the Cold War, but people soon fear that peace will be broken.

The United States and North Korea have had a complicated history, mostly due to the Cold War (1947-1991), as well as the Korean War, which is the most significant. North Korea had invaded South Korea in 1950 and the United States sent help to South Korea. This greatly angered North Korea, and heightened their hatred for America.

Our previous president Barack Obama, as well as. previous administrations, continuously worked to keep the peace between American and North Korea during his two terms. Recently, Kim Jong Un has had multiple rocket tests near Japan and its nearby seas. This has caused the American people to panic, fearing that our neautrality with North Korea has been broken. Our current president has not helped, as he has been constantly antagonizing Kim Jong Un with petty insults and threats.  Undoubtely,  President Trump and his cabinet are faced with very difficult circumstances and concerns.

The people talk of a Third World War, but others say that it’s not going to happen. Will petty insults and threats start a pointless war? What do you believe?
