What made you want to become a teacher?

I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was young, but I decided to become specifically an English teacher because of some of my teachers.

Are there any teachers that made you want to be like them?

Yes, of course. Most of my teachers have been inspiring and supportive.

Favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject in school has always been an English class, but I also have always enjoyed history.

How do you spend your free time?

I spend my free time reading, watching movies, and sleeping.

Where do you want to teach?

If I could choose where I could teach it would definitely be at New Castle Senior High School.

What is the difference between student teaching and being an actual student?

Student teaching a huge change and it took some adapting, but I like it much better than being an actual student. As a student, you do a lot of sitting around and student teaching is more hands on.

Why did you want to become an English teacher?

I had a lot of great English teachers in high school and I feel that I’ve learned something from every single one of them. Almost every one of my teachers helped me with my decision to pursue teaching English.

What grade would you like to primarily teach?

If I could choose what grade to teach it would definitely be 10th or 11th grade.

Has student teaching and observing in the classroom taught you anything?

Yes, for sure! During these last 16 weeks, I have actually learned more from Mr. Lubin and getting to teach hands-on than my last 4 years in college.

Has Mr. Lubin rubbed off on you? Also, have you picked up any teaching methods that you are likely to use in the future?

Mr. Lubin has definitely rubbed off on me. I know that he has because I say a lot of the things that he does and I like his way of teaching. One of the teaching methods that I believe is just great is when the whole class gathers around the teacher in a big circle. I love this way of teaching because it gets everyone involved and it allows anyone to express how they feel about a book, lesson, subject, etc.
