Hello Canes! I am Daneshka Matos and I’m writing about Allentown, PA. I am new to New Castle but I don’t really know much about the town, but maybe some of you guys don’t know much about Allentown either. I would like to share a little bit about my hometown with you.
One thing about Allentown that everyone should know is that it is such a beautiful place to live, especially the parks. They have one park called the Allentown Rose Garden, but people call it the Duck Park because of how many ducks there are in the park. People say it is beautiful because of the flowers and the statues and in the wintertime. It is even more beautiful with all the white snow. Many people like to go there to take pictures and hang out. Many people go jogging and do exercise. There are also many dog walkers in the area. It is a great park to walk your dog.
The schools are pretty special too. I went to Luis E. Dieruff High School. I made many friends there. The schools treat you like family there. I got along with so many people and I really never had a problem with anyone. Everyone knew everyone, the teachers were amazing, and the counselors were always there when you needed someone to talk to. It seemed as if the people in the school would never let you down. My old school also had amazing sports and programs like volleyball, football, swimming, and basketball. They also had programs like JROTC, LTCI, Anime club, and other fun activities after school.
The last reason why Allentown was such an amazing place to live was because of my old jobs. My old job was at Dorney Park & Wild Water Kingdom. I loved working there, but it was really tiring. There were many steep hills you had to constantly go up and down, but besides that it was fun. It was also my first job. The park has many different rides such as the Steel Force, Thunderhawk, Hydra, and The Grip of Fear. They were such awesome rides.
If you are ever in the Allentown area you should check out some of the places I mentioned above. I look forward to seeing what New Castle has to offer. Leave comments for me on places to explore in the area. Thanks for reading Canes!
