NCASD Easter Break starts on March 28th, 2024 and ends on April 1st, 2024, Easter for me is always a fun time to celebrate with my family. I’m sure a lot of you celebrate with your family and friends. Regardless of whether you’ve celebrated in the past years or are completely new to the holiday, I figured I’d share some fun things to try out this Easter!
Easter Egg Hunt – This can be done in many different ways per family but generally, the idea of easter egg hunting is hiding a bunch of plastic eggs that are often filled with small toys, candy, and even money around your home, yard, etc to find. Typically for my family my mom and aunts hide three golden eggs filled with money from 5-50 dollars, this makes looking for eggs even more competitive than before. For us not only do we see who can find the most but also who finds the highest bill. Adding onto this it would be cool to have a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt, you can buy plastic eggs that glow or even paint onto them.
Egg Painting – Unlike the eggs we hide around the house egg painting is typically done by hard-boiling eggs and painting the shell with cool Easter designs. There are plenty of kits around that you can find locally or if you want to get creative, you can add your own touch and add-ons. This is a great way to bond with your family/friends plus it’s fun to eat all the eggs when we’re done showing them off!
Flower Decorations – Typically when Easter rolls around it’s warm outside and perfect for spending time picking flowers with friends, even better you can use those flowers to spice up your Easter! You could make flower crowns to wear around or you could use them to decorate a custom-made wreath for easter to hand on the door!
Easter Parade – If you can it would be really fun to take your friends or family to an Easter parade, usually people in the parade pass out or throw candy, toys, and other fun easter-y stuff! You can look at all the cool floats and costumes people have on plus you can enjoy the weather outside!
Making Easter Baskets – Making Easter baskets with your friends – you and your friends can take a trip to the store and buy cute baskets and colorful grass to stuff in the bottom. Easter baskets can have anything in them and don’t have to exactly correlate to Easter, however, you can stuff easter candy and easter related things in there to stick to the theme.
Watch Easter Movies – If you rather have a slow chill Easter you can always bundle up with your favorite bunny blanket and watch Easter movies, there is a vast variety to choose from, but some that were recommended to me are:
- The Dog Who Saved Easter
- Hodge Saves Easter
- Easter Land
- HOP
- Rabbit School
- Peter Rabbit
- Easter Bunny Adventure
Have a great Easter Break Canes! Let me know some fun things that you do!
