Interview with New Castle Senior High Track Star Madison Conley/Senior Edition

As Spring is right around the corner, Track season is soon to be on its way! Madison Conley is Senior who is excited about her very last track season and has many goals that she is willing to put the work in to reach.

Q: When did you first start doing track?

Conley: “I started to run track my 10th-grade year and I’ve enjoyed it ever since.”

Q: What inspired you to start doing track?

Conley: “I wanted to do a sport where I could compete as an individual but still a team. I like to see myself progressing through PR’s.”

Q: What events do you compete in?

Conley: “I compete in many events. Long Jump, Triple Jump, 100 Meter Dash, Pole Vault, and 4X1.”

Q: Do you practice anytime outside of track practice at school?

Conley: “I often attend private pole vault lessons outside of school and workout during my free time.”

Q: Whats your favorite event?

Conley: “Pole vault is my favorite event. As a former gymnast, I like that it uses skills I know for something new.”

Q: Do you have any goals for this season? 

Conley: “This year I would like to beat the schools pole vault record of 9ft 3 and a half inch. as well as compete in the WPIAL.”

Q: What is your pole vault PR?

Conley: “I think 6 Ft.”
