I had the opportunity to interview Mr. Forsberg who filled in this year to direct our choir. I hope you enjoy this interview-Nick Russo

  1. Has teaching choir always been an aspiration of yours?

          Yes, from about the 9th or 10th grade.

2. Do you feel that a friendship forms with your students?

           Yes, it’s one of the reasons I love music.

          3. What drove you to want to teach choir?

       I went to a district chorus festival in my sophomore year and I was so inspired that I decided that I had to continue in music.         

         4. Do you ever get bored of teaching choir?

         No, everyday is different, you’re always achieving a new goal.

5. Do you have a passion for music in general, as well as choir?

          Yes, it’s always expanding as well

          6. How do you keep your students motivated to always try their best?

  Trying new forms of music and by keeping the energy in every rehearsal always keeps my students interested and motivated.        

7. Do you love what you do?

        Absolutely, it’s my passion.

          8. Are you proud of what your students have accomplished?

         Yes, that’s one of my favorite parts of teaching choir is that I get to watch my students accomplish their goals.

          9. Do you notice an improvement in your students as they continue to grow in choir?

          Absolutely, students definitely gain new abilities and expand on ones they already had.

10. Has it been an interesting experience to pick up where Mrs. Geary left off?

           It’s been a challenge, with her being off and so many different people subbing, it’s been a challenge -however it has been a positive experience and challenge!!!
