The transition into senior high can be very hard for incoming 9th graders. Stricter policy, harder classes, and adjusting to a new side of the school can all add up to a hard transition. 9 ninth graders gave us an insight into their transition into the other side of the school.

Q: Do you enjoy being in the senior high?

A:

Student 1- Yes, I enjoy being in the senior high.

Student 2- Yes.

Student 3- Yes I do.

 

Q: What was the hardest part of the transition for Jr. to Sr. high?

A:

Student 4- It’s bigger than the junior high.

Student 5- Getting through the halls.

Student 6- I was missing all my Jr. High teachers.

 

Q: Are your classes harder now that you’re in Sr. high?

A:

Student 1- With effort no.

Student 2- No.

Student 3- No they aren’t.

 

Q: What is the hardest part of 9th grade so far.

A:

Student 4- Waiting longer for lunch.

Student 5- Making it to the bus.

Student 6- The pre-test in Mr. Bongivengo’s class.

 

Q: List one thing you like and do not like about 9th grade.

A:

Student 7- I like my classes this year. I dislike having homework.

Student 8- I like the easier classes, the closer proximity to lunch. I dislike the strict attendance schedule.

Student 9- I like how i have more options for classes. I dislike how lunch is 6th period instead of 5th.

 

Although the transition into the senior high can be stressful, there are many positives aspects of 9th grade. After the transition, 9th grade is one of the easiest years of high school.
