The New Castle High School football team had displayed many promising moments throughout their season thus far. The team follows the leadership of their head coach Joe Cowart, with a group of assistant coaches who all want the players to succeed in every aspect of the game. The Hurricanes achieved an overall record of three wins and five losses (3-5), with a record in their conference of one win and four losses(1-4). The ranking of the team nationally is 6017, and the ranking in the state is 256. Although the team has taken a few losses, they have been strong following the leadership of seniors such as Payne Prowell, Donte Burnett, Drew Cox, Joshua Bartley, Nicholas Papa, Matthew Senchak, Josh Thomason. Also, there has been a very strong supporting cast of underclassmen which have led them to some wins on the season! The next game for the Hurricanes will be held on October 19 at Taggart field against a strong opponent, Highlands. There is no doubt in my mind that the Hurricanes will defend their home field and come out with a victory!
