The New Castle High School Track and Field team enters the season with a huge target on their back. In season play, the team was 32-0 going into the season. That means that three-year high school track and field athletes were going into this season undefeated in their careers. The team has its eyes set on a four-peat this season, winning the section for four years consecutively. In this section, if the Canes do so much as lose a meet, they will not win the section.

The Track team started off the season with a win over Leechburg making them 34-0. they continued this stretch with wins over Beaver, Moon, Blackhawk, Montour, Central Valley, Ambridge to make them 40-0. In track, you must score at least 75 points in order to win the meet. This means that as much as one person missing an event can cause the meet entirely. The Canes have successfully beaten every team with at least 85 points up to this point in the season. Let us cheer on our Canes as they continue their season, bring home that sweet 4-peat, Go Canes!
